Ellen Garibaldi, M.D.

Dr. Garibaldi is a recent arrival to southern California from Pennsylvania. She attended the University of Pennsylvania for her undergraduate  studies and graduated cum laude from the Department of Psychology Honors Research Program. She attended the Medical College of Pennsylvania and was awarded the Clinical Pediatrics Prize at graduation. She pursued pediatrics training at the children’s hospital of Temple University Medical Center and went on to a year of training at Thomas Jefferson University Medical Center’s residential hospital for severe asthma. She completed an allergy and clinical immunology fellowship at the University of Michigan Medical School.

For the next fourteen years, she pursued research interests on the allergy/immunology  faculties of St. Louis University School of Medicine, and the Newark/Hackensack campuses of the New Jersey Medical College during which time she served as director of the Allergy Challenge Center and principal investigator of the asthma rehabilitation program, both at St. Louis University. Later at New Jersey Medical College she was the clinical coordinator transferring emergency room asthma patients to the allergy/immunology division offices for crisis care leading to long term disease management. The Hackensack campus was dedicated to antibody infusion treatment of primary immune deficiency.

Leaving academic medicine, Dr. Garibaldi founded a solo allergy/immunology practice residing within a large Ear Nose Throat surgical practice, where over nine years she acquired experience and technical skills related to nasal health, sinusitis and middle ear disease. Just prior to coming to California, she spent seven more years focused on antibody replacement for primary immunodeficiency as well as community allergy/immunology care. She currently serves as the full-time allergist in both the Long Beach and Costa Mesa offices, and as an investigator in clinical trials with Kenneth Kim, M.D.

In her spare time, Dr.Garibaldi cares for her rescue pugs and indulges in weekend brunch with her son. She is active in the missions of her church.
